Dream of Meritocracy - Goldsmiths MFA Degree Show
Loftomattic ladders, stickers, posters, flyers, audio and Arduino.
Dream of Meritocracy, shown alongside Screen Test, for my degree show (2021) is a reworking of my dad’s automated loft ladders so that 2 of them would be coreographed using Arduino to pass each other in middle of the gallery. There were also mock-posters designed by auditioning doppelgangers displayed on the viewers journey to the ladders, as well as an accompanying jingle played inside the lift and a few Loftmattic stickers around the space. Finally there was flyer offering the opportunity to buy a ladder for more than normal, as it would now be an artwork, and that extra amount being awarded to the artist.
