Reconfigured Loftomattic automated loft ladder, designed to extend upwards rather than downwards, with spotlights mounted on the bottom rung, projecting a spot on the wall that gradually climbs as the ladder extends. The ladder is controlled with an remote attached to an Arduino which triggers the ladder to open and close on a timed loop.
